Eos is
aimed to render a rich sound stage with power
and precision also in the deepest bass region.
Eos shares the midrange and tweeter from Leto
as well as 95% of the crossover for these drivers.
The crossover
is hand built and uses only one
component in the signal path to each
driver for the filtering. This, of
course, puts high demands on the drivers
behavior over a much wider frequency
range. This is solved by using
drivers that benefit from Diecast Aluminum
Chassis which is vented below the spider for
better power handling and better sound. The
precision textile dome and copper clad center
pole which yields a very low voice coil
inductance.
But Eos adds an eight inch bass driver
capable of clean bass down to below 30 Hz. This
covers the low frequency needs in almost all
domestic scenarios.
The 1st order crossover allows the
midrange and treble to be as fluent and airy as
can be. This together with the ideal dispersion is
key to good soundstage qualities.
The aim
with Eos is a loudspeaker that disappears even
thoug being a "big box" while rendering a big,
perfect sound stage. Dispersion, impulse
response and homogenus phase are the really
outstanding technical characteristics.
Eos, as all other Engelholm Audio
speakers, are hand build with extremely good
quality in all components.
